A Taxpayer Identification Number (TPIN) is required to clear goods duty free and conduct business with the Malawi Revenue Authority. You can register for a TPIN through Msonkho Online on the MRA’s website or by contacting the MRA Call Centre for assistance.1
How to register
You can register for a TPIN in two ways. First, you can use Msonkho Online on the MRA’s website at www.mra.mw to register yourself. Second, you can contact the MRA Call Centre on 672 (free to call) and they will assist you to register for tax and obtain your TPIN.1

Who needs a TPIN
Only individuals with a Taxpayer Identification Number are eligible to clear goods duty free. If you do not have a TPIN, you must register to obtain one.1
